On June 12, the 2nd conference of cooperation and coordination mechanism of China-ROK industrial park was held in Yancheng city, Jiangsu province. The conference was jointly hosted by Gaoyan, Vice Minister of Ministry of Commerce and Kim Chang-kyu, Deputy Minister of International Trade and Legal Affairs of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy of ROK.

As Gao Yan suggested, the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China made strategic deployment on stimulating the formation of the new pattern of the comprehensive opening up, and President Xi Jinping declared significant moves to expand China’s opening-up in the annual meeting of Boao Forum for Asia, which offered new opportunities for deepening China-ROK economic and trade cooperation. In accordance with the consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, China’s State Council published an official reply in December 2017, and agreed to build China-ROK industrial parks in Yancheng city, Jiangsu province, Yantai city, Shandong province and Huizhou city, Guangdong province, which was a new move to stimulate the cooperation between the two countries in the new era. For the past half year, the construction of industrial parks has made active progress under joint efforts of all parties. We will closely cooperate with ROK, push forward the China-ROK industrial parks and actively put China-ROK FTA into practice. We will quicken duplicating the best experiences of pilot reform of free trade zones such as Shanghai Free Trade Zone and carry out the innovation of systems and mechanism, stimulate the coordinated development with Saemangeum ROK-China industrial park and strive to build the new highlands for China-ROK local economy and high-end industrial cooperation.

Kim Chang-kyu pointed out that ROK government paid high attention to the construction of China-ROK industrial park. ROK government is willing to carry out close cooperation with China, actively explore and stimulate the related specific programs and quicken the related construction cooperation. ROK welcomes Chinese enterprises to invest in Saemangeum ROK-China industrial park. ROK has conducted a series of supporting policies. He believes that cooperation of China-ROK industrial park will inject new power to drive China-ROK economic and trade cooperation.

During the conference, both sides also hosted the first meeting of exchange and cooperation for China-ROK industrial park and the unveiling ceremony for China-ROK Yancheng, Yantai and Huizhou industrial parks.
