On June 7, the 9th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum was unveiled in Macao. Vice Minister of Commerce Gao Yan attended the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech. Fernando Chui, Chief Executive of Macao Special Administrative Region and Obama, Prime Minister of Equatorial Guinea were also present and made speeches.

Gao Yan pointed out that infrastructure construction is the backbone and foundation of national economy development, and all the countries paid great attention to it with strong market demands. With the deepening and development of regional economic integration, demands on interconnection of cross-regional infrastructure gradually increase and obtain broad cooperation landscape. In recent years, under the guidance of “Belt and Road” initiative, China has been actively supporting and participating in global infrastructure cooperation while building communities of shared interests and destiny following the principle of “joint negotiation, common construction and sharing”.

Gao Yan said that strengthening global infrastructure cooperation has become the consensus of governments all over the world. , and it has also become a significant content of economic and trade cooperation in various countries. China is willing to further boost its global infrastructure cooperation and development and benefit people of all countries together with the international community under the guidance of “Belt and Road” initiative. Firstly, strengthen global infrastructure cooperation with active and open attitudes; secondly, boost innovation-driven implementation and cultivate new impetus of infrastructure development and global development; thirdly, continue to strengthen construction of infrastructure interconnection and serve the integrated development of regional economy.

Over 1,800 guests from 66 countries and regions attended the opening ceremony including 56 ministerial honored guests. Before the opening ceremony, Vice Minister Gao Yan and Chief Executive of Macao Special Administrative Region Fernando Chui met with the ministerial level guests and guests above that level from various countries jointly.
