The 10th Session of China-Vietnam Economic and Trade Cooperation Committee Held in Hanoi

On September 28, the 10th Session of China-Vietnam Economic and Trade Cooperation Committee was held in Hanoi, Vietnam, and Vice Minister of Commerce Gao Yan and Vice Ministry of Industry and Trade (Vietnam) Tran Quoc Khanh co-chaired this meeting. They agreed that the leaders of the two countries pointed out the direction for deepening the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic partnership via frequent high-level reciprocal visits. In the spirit of four “good”—good neighbor, good friend, good comrade and good partner, they will earnestly implement the trade and economic consensuses reached by the leaders, actively promote the docking between the Belt and Road Initiative and“two corridors and one ring” initiative and practically enhance the major cooperation items.

They mainly prepared for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting at which the Chinese leaders would show up in November this year. They mainly exchanged views on implementing the five-year trade and economic cooperation plan between China and Vietnam, promoting the balanced development of bilateral trade, establishing China-Vietnam cross border economic cooperation zones, China’ s trade and economic cooperation zones in Vietnam and their cooperation in finance. Major projects and multilateral regions and batches of consensuses were reached. After the meeting, both sides signed the minutes of the meeting.

Gao said that the bilateral trade turnover constantly hit the record high and the Chinese enterprises’ investment in Vietnam saw a rapid growth. China would like to work with Vietnam to implement the consensuses reached by the leaders through docking the Belt and Road Initiative and “two corridors and one ring” initiative, uninterruptedly deepening bilateral trade and economic cooperation, creating China-Vietnam community of shared interests and future and making the idea “cooperation benefits both” take root.

Tran Quoc Khanh said that great achievements had been made in the trade and economic cooperation, which contributed greatly to the development of the Vietnam-China comprehensive cooperation partnership. This meeting is just ahead of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting in November, having great significance. Vietnam would like to work with China to promote bilateral trade and economic relationship through solving practical problems.
