The Vice Minister of Commerce Gao Yan attended the 10th China-Japan Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Comprehensive Forum and delivered a keynote speech in Beijing on November 26.

Gao pointed out that the China-Japan Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Comprehensive Forum is an important trade and economic cooperation mechanism for the two countries and has become a significant platform for strengthening policy communication in the fields of energy conservation, environmental protection and it also functions as an effective channel for promoting the practical cooperation between the enterprises of the two countries. At present, China’s economy has entered a new normality while facing increasingly severe energy environment challenges. We must insist on the basic national policy of saving resource and protecting environment. We should also insist on integrating the sustainable development and ecological civilization construction into all aspects and the full process of the development of economic society. China and Japan are the second and the third economies in the world, enjoying strong complementarity in energy conservation and environmental protection field and share broad cooperation prospect in the future. Both sides can strengthen cooperation in aspects such as green strategy docking, cultivating green cooperation environment, building green partnership, carrying out the third-party cooperation of green energy and developing green finance.

China-Japan Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Comprehensive Forum was established in 2006 and was jointly hosted by the State Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan and Japan-China Economic Association.
