On March 25, Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce Gao Yan and Japanese Vice-Minister for International Affairs Takayuki Ueda co-chaired the 17th Vice Ministerial Negotiation between Chinese Ministry of Commerce and Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in Beijing. The two parties exchanged views on the macro economic situation of the two countries, the bilateral economic and trade cooperation and the regional multilateral cooperation.

Gao said that, a China-Japan economic and trade cooperation relation that accords with the trend of the times, enjoys common development and realizes mutual benefit, is the main theme and goal of bilateral cooperation. She hoped that the two parties would implement the cooperation consensus reached at the China-Japan-ROK leaders meeting and the economic ministers’ meeting, so as to promote the constant improvement and development of China-Japan economic and trade cooperation, and step into a wider space and reach a higher level.

Takayuki Ueda said that, since the last year, the bilateral economic and trade exchanges have been even closer. The bilateral economic and trade relation was further deepened by the Japanese Economic Delegation’s visit to China and the Success of the 9th Japan-China Comprehensive Forum on Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection. Deepening the reciprocal economic and trade cooperation will not only benefit the economic reform of Japan and China, but also benefit the development of the world economy.
